Christina Beelaerts van Blokland-Price is an Australian artist living and working in Canada. She was born in Paris and spent her early years living in South-East Asia, Geneva and Paris. She returned to Australia to complete her secondary schooling in the Southern Highlands in NSW.
After graduating from the University of Sydney with a BA, she studied drawing and lithography at George Washington University in Washington D.C. She then studied in The Hague in The Netherlands with the well-known Dutch artist, Lux Buurman, learning the techniques of the l7th century Dutch painters. From her earliest years she has shown absolute dedication to the pursuit of her chosen career.
Her love of drawing is apparent in her graphite works studies and she also works with water colours and acrylics. Her oil paintings incorporate all the techniques she learnt in The Hague and are sought after both in Europe and North America.
Christina's first exhibition took place in l985, and she has exhibited many times since then, in The Netherlands, Germany, USA and Canada, as well as completing many private commissions.
